Yang Amat Berbahagia Dato Dr Hj Wan Mohd Isa Bin Dato Seri Wan Ahmad, Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan Merangkap Orang Besar Jajahan Larut Matang dan Selama started his career as a sub accountant at UMBC Bank of Taiping. He held various posts and his last post being the Head of Banking for Kedah, Penang and Perak. He left the bank to further his studies where he took up Alternative Medicine in India, UK, China and Indonesia.
In University YABhg did a thesis on universal energy and was conferred a Doctorate in Philosophy. He had three clinics in KL which he gave up to take his royal appointment as Orang Besar Jajahan in 2003.
In view of his worthy contributions in the Larut Matang and Selama District he was conferred the Datoship by his Royal Highness Sultan of Perak in 2004.
YABhg is a very approachable person with a soft heart for the poor, the needy and the underprivileged and is very involved in community work and NGO’s, and Rotary in his pet NGO. YABhg Dato is a Honorary Rotarian of 2 Rotary Clubs (Taiping and Kamunting) in the Larut, Matang and Selama District and a Rotary Ambassador for District 3300 appointed by YABhg DG Dato Jimmy Lim at the beginning of this Rotary year – a recognition he received for being so supportive of Rotary.
YABhg subscribes to the ideals of Rotary and his attitude towards Rotary is very positive. He attends all functions of the Rotary Clubs of Taiping and Kamunting and at District level, he has been the District Governer’s special guest, at all major District functions, the last being the Royal Banquet at the Conference. He took the trouble to go together with Yang Berbahagia Toh Puan to see for themselves the Rotary International activities and went to India with our District to attend the Polio Plus National Immunization Day.
In view of his contributions towards Rotary, in general, the Rotary Club of Taiping is proud to honour him with the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF).

FAKTA : Implikasi pembunuhan Birch di Pasir Salak
British menyerang Perak dan tercetusnya ‘Perang Perak’ dari November 1875 hingga 1876. Pasir Salak ditawan pada 15 November 1875 selepas bertempur hebat dengan pasukan Datuk Maharajalela, Pandak Indut dan Datuk Sagor. Dalam pertempuran itu, British membakar rumah sepanjang sungai di Kampung Gajah dan Pasir Salak.
Pada 13 Januari 1876, British menawarkan ganjaran RM6,000 kepada sesiapa yang berjaya menangkap Datuk Maharajalela dan masing-masing RM3,000 untuk penangkapan Datuk Sagor dan Pandak Indut.
Datuk Maharajalela dan pengikutnya menyerah diri kepada British pada 30 Julai 1876 selepas dijanji akan dibicara secara adil di mahkamah.
Pandak Indut didapati bersalah dan dihukum gantung sampai mati pada 20 Mei 1876. Pada 20 Januari 1877, Datuk Maharajalela, Datuk Sagor dan Pandak Indut dihukum gantung sampai mati. Pengikut lain iaitu Kulup Ali, Si Tuah, Panjang Bur dan Ngah Jabor dihukum penjara seumur hidup.
Sultan Abdullah dan pembesar Perak lain seperti Menteri Ngah Ibrahim, Laksamana Wan Muhammad dan Syahbandar Uda Mahamor dibuang ke Pulau Sychelles sementara bekas sultan terdahulu iaitu Raja Ismail, Datuk Wan dan Panglima Perang Semaun dibuang ke Skudai, Johor. Raja Yusof iaitu seorang lagi kerabat diraja, dilantik Sultan Perak yang baru. Sultan Abdullah kemudian dibenar kembali ke Kuala Kangsar pada 1922 dan mangkat di sana.
FAKTA: Isi Perjanjian Pangkor 1874
British mengiktiraf Raja Abdullah sebagai Sultan Perak yang sah menggantikan Sultan Ismail. Sultan Ismail akan diberi gelaran lain (Sultan Muda) dan diberi pencen RM1,000 sebulan serta jajahan kecil untuk ditadbir.
Sultan bersedia menerima seorang Residen British sebagai penasihat. Nasihat residen mesti diminta dan dipatuhi dalam semua perkara kecuali hal bersangkutan agama Islam dan adat istiadat Melayu.
Pungutan semua hasil negeri dan pelantikan dibuat atas nama sultan tetapi menerusi nasihat residen. Gaji residen dibayar sultan dan bukannya Kerajaan British.
Semua pelantikan yang dibuat ketika pemerintahan Sultan Ismail dulu, diiktiraf.
Kuasa yang Al-Marhum Sultan Jaafar Muazzam Shah kepada Menteri Larut iaitu Ngah Ibrahim disahkan tetapi beliau tidak lagi diiktiraf pemerintah yang merdeka sebaliknya mesti menerima seorang penolong residen untuk membantunya mentadbir Larut.
Sempadan Pulau Dinding dan Pangkor yang diserah kepada British menerusi Perjanjian Low dipindahkan semula. Tindakan sama diambil ke atas sempadan Sungai Kerian.
